Running optimization:
Estimated natural gas price and consumption
Perform a what-if scenario modifying production capacities for the countries in this sub-model,
and observe via the heatmap the % change of the optimal case of Gas Price (kEUR/mcm) and Consumption (mcm/d) vs the 2013 figures.
The underlying data is taken from a number of sources for the year 2013 (see Baltensperger et al., 2017).
While these sources include numbers for many more countries for a larger model, they don't offer complete coverage for Europe.
The underlying model is a Partial Equilibrium Model (PEM), which is formulated as
convex optimization problem (see Baltensperger et al., 2018).
